Adebayo Akinrogunde is dedicated to serving First Nations communities and advocating for removing barriers to living an affordable and healthy life.
Born in Nigeria, Adebayo has been living in Winnipeg since 2017 with his wife and two children. He is passionate about providing care to everyone who needs it and has over a decade of experience working in hospitals, public health, clinical research, social work, data management, and entrepreneurship.
Adebayo holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy a Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Benin in Nigeria, and a Master of Pharmacy Practice from the North-West University in South Africa. Adebayo also holds a Special Executive Master’s Certificate in Entrepreneurship from the Metropolitan School of Business and Management in London, UK and a certificate in Data Management from Berkeley Data Strategists, London. Adebayo has a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Research, Pharmacovigilance and Regulatory Affairs from the Academy of Applied Pharmaceutical Sciences in Toronto. Adebayo also completed his Postgraduate Medical Education, Global Clinical Scholars Research Training program at Harvard Medical School.
Currently, Adebayo is a Mental Health and Child Development Worker at the Shamattawa First Nation Health Department. In partnership with First Nations communities, health care professionals, and educational professionals, he ensures that First Nation children and families have the services and supports they need. His career has given Adebayo a unique perspective on the needs of the community and the policies needed to ensure everyone can live an affordable and healthy life.
Adebayo knows that a community-first approach to leadership is the only way to ensure good public service and real solutions that work for people. That’s why he’s running as your NDP candidate in Winnipeg North—to work with you to bring new ideas and lasting change to the lives of everyday people.
Adebayo is ready to fight for every child, family, worker, and senior in Winnipeg North.
